Overview

This article provides clarification about the Email Greylist and most importantly, the supported wildcards within this list.

Greylisting is a method of defending e-mail users against spam. A mail transfer agent (MTA) using greylisting will "temporarily reject" any email from a sender it does not recognize.

Information

• The supported wildcard entries for Greylist is different from that of Whitelist and Blocklist.
• Currently, it only supports the whole domain like *@domain.com or *@server.domain.com.
• Entries such as *@*.domain.com, *@.domain.com, and other formats mentioned in the article below are not supported by Greylist email exclusion.
