Overview
The Directory Harvesting feature in GFI MailEssentials blocks emails addressed to non-existent recipients in your organization. This means that, in most cases, no mailbox is available for the spam emails blocked by Directory Harvesting.
The table in this article describes how different actions performed by GFI MailEssentials affects emails blocked by Directory Harvesting, helping the administrator choose the appropriate action for Directory Harvesting.
Information
Action | Description |
Delete | The emails blocked by Directory Harvesting will be deleted. |
Quarantine | The emails blocked by Directory Harvesting will be stored in the Quarantine. |
Move to sub-folder of user's mailbox | The emails destined to non-existent users will take the Anti-Spam Global Actions. Emails destined to existent users will be saved to the subfolder specified. |
Forward to email address | All emails blocked by Directory Harvesting will be forwarded to the email address specified. |
Tag email |
All emails blocked by the Directory Harvesting module will be tagged. Emails destined to non-existent users will cause an NDR message from the mail server. |
Move to user's junk mail folder | All emails blocked by the Directory Harvesting module will be tagged. Emails destined to non-existent users will cause an NDR message from the mail server. |
