As companies can have many different disclaimers for users and mailboxes it is wise to back these up.
Export
- Login to GFI MailEssentials with administrative credentials.
- Go to Email Management > Disclaimers
- Select one of the existing samples or click Add Disclaimer.
- Choose HTML or Plain Text tab.
- Add or type the content under [ HTML / Text ] Disclaimer
- Select Export.
- Save the file.
Import
- Login to GFI MailEssentials with administrative credentials.
- Go to Email Management > Disclaimers
- Select one of the existing samples or click Add Disclaimer.
- Choose HTML or Plain Text tab.
- Select Import
- Select the exported file.
- Select OK
Manual Backup
- Open ..\Program Files\GFI\MailEssentials\AntiSpam\config.mdb
- Note: This can alternatively can be opened from a backup config.mdb if disclaimers are missing after an upgrade
- Open the Disclaimers table
- Gather text or html code from respective fields. These can be saved to a notepad file for each disclaimer.
Manual Import
- Open Start > Programs > GFI > MailEssentials > Email Management
- Create new disclaimer for user or mailbox
- Add HTML or Plain Text disclaimer depending on type
- Save the disclaimer
Recreating the disclaimers through Email Management will be the best way to import the disclaimers as it will make certain that the disclaimer is imported into the correct table with the correct format.
