This article contains information regarding the supported MS Exchange server roles for GFI MailEssentials installation in a Microsoft Exchange environment.
Information
- When installing GFI MailEssentials on the same server as Microsoft® Exchange 2010 or later, no pre-install actions or configurations are required.
- In Microsoft® Exchange 2010 environments, GFI MailEssentials can only be installed on the servers with the following roles:
- Edge Server Role.
- Hub Transport Role.
- Hub Transport and Mailbox Roles - with this configuration GFI MailEssentials can also scan internal emails for viruses.
- In Microsoft® Exchange , GFI MailEssentials can only be installed on the servers with the following roles:
- Edge Transport role.
- Mailbox role.
