Overview
After upgrading to GFI MailEssentials 2015, the User Interface no longer displays the Whitelist/Blocklist. The MailEssentials.ControlLists.DAL logs display the following error:
"MailEssentials.ControlLists.DAL","Error: Error Message: Access to the database file is not allowed. [ File name = C:\Program Files\GFI\MailEssentials\Antispam\Data\ControlLists.sdf ]"
Environment
Upgrade to GFI MailEssentials 2015.
Root Cause
Necessary permissions are not granted.
Resolution
- Locate the Controllists.sdf file in the following directory ...GFI\MailEssentials\Antispam\Data.
- Right-click on the tab Database > Security.
- Locate the Everyone entity and grant it full permission to the database.
- Restart the GFI MailEssentials Attendant service.
