The Microsoft Message Queuing ( MSMQ ) Private Queues are used by GFI MailEssentials to cache data which need to be written into various databases.
This article provides information on which queues are used and how to access them.
To access the private queues:
- Go to Start > Run.
compmgmt.mscand press Enter. The Computer Management console is displayed.
- Click Services and Applications > Message Queuing > Private Queues.
It is normal that during peak hours (high mail flow) the number of messages in the queues increase; it returns to normal after a short while.
If the GFI MailEssentials module fails to write data into a queue three times, it moves it to the Recovery Queue and is re-processed after a restart of the GFI MailEssentials services or the server.
See the following table for a description of the Private Queues:
|Name||Receives from||Processed By||Description|
|antispamqueue@#||AS Scan Engine||Quarantine ActionServices||Holds spam emails which are to be actioned|
|gfimelistserv_<>@#||List Server||List Server||Used by list server to pass emails between plug-ins|

Purging the above-mentioned queues does not always remove the referenced files.
