Answer
PROBLEM
When installing the GFI MailEssentials one is unable to install GFI MailEssentials in Active Directory mode.
ENVIRONMENT
-
GFI MailEssentials
-
all supported environments
SOLUTION
Ensure that you run the installation of GFI MailEssentials with a domain administrator account rather than a local account.
CAUSE
You have to be logged on the server where GFI MailEssentials is going to be installed in as a domain administrator in order to let GFI MailEssentials detect the Microsoft Active Directory. If an administrator is logged on the machine with a local user account, the setup will not be able to detect Microsoft Active Directory. Hence the product will not be installed in Active Directory mode.
