Other than the error displayed and checking in AD/Exchange, there is no way to identify the issue. The logs do not report an error when this happens.Workaround / Fix Details
Upgrade customer to GFI MailEssentials 2015 or later

Attach this article to the case and get a screenshot of both the error in the user interface, as well as once of AD/Exchange showing that the email address is present. Please try to gather information about the network as well. This information will include:
1. Is this a parent or child domain? Is the domain trusted with another one?
2. Was the account migrated from an earlier version of Exchange?
3. Is there an actual mailbox created for the account, or just an email address associated with it?
4. Does this issue happen on all machines or just the server? Does it affect all users or just certain ones?
