Overview
When trying to install the cumulative patch from General Settings\Product Updates, the update fails.
PatchPlugin.txt log located in ..\MailEssentials\Attendant\debuglogs will show the following error:
..."error ","PatchPlugin","Error: InstallPatch, System.InvalidOperationException: This access control list is not in canonical form and therefore cannot be modified.

Root Cause
Permissions are set not correctly onto the GFI MailEssentials folder, causing an Access Control List message stating the permissions are incorrectly ordered to appear when accessing the folder properties.
Resolution
- Right-click the
\GFI\MailEssentialsdirectory and select Properties. Click the Security tab. - Add the Network Service account with full control and allow the permissions to propagate.
