Overview
MailEssentials is not processing emails, with the Dashboard Log showing OK as the scan result. Various emails are found in the GFI FailedMails folders. They get delivered once they are reprocessed. Additionally, you cannot add local domains in the settings. The list of local domains in the settings is empty, and adding a new local domain does not save.

Solution Steps
In this scenario, please follow the steps below:
- Please disable the Email Security from the MailEssentials settings:
- Restart the server.
- Verify if the issue persists:
- If the issue does not manifest, please enable the Email Security and retest.
-
If the issue is still present, the best option is to reinstall MailEssentials.
Download the same version of GFI MailEssentials as the one currently running in your environment. Links to all the versions are available in the Download Links for All Versions of GFI MailEssentials article.NoteBefore completing the process below, it is recommended to back up the configuration settings. Upgrading usually keeps the existing configuration in place. However, it is always good practice to have a backup of your MailEssentials configuration.
-
Go to Control Panel.
-
Locate MailEssentials and select Uninstall.
-
After completing the uninstall process, locate the previously downloaded installer.
-
Right-click on the installer and select Run as Administrator.
-
Verify that the installer is pointed to the same install location as the previous installation and that the previous settings should be used.
Once you have confirmed that the settings are the same, it is safe to delete the backup previously taken.NoteIf any of the settings are missing, refer to the Restoring a Manual Backup of MailEssentials article for information on how to restore the settings.
