Overview
You are not able to finalize GFI MailEssentials installation after installing updates for Microsoft Exchange as the Post-Installation wizard (e2k7wiz.exe
) finishes with errors. This is due to the changes introduced in Microsoft Exchange products with April 2021 update which affects how services like GFI MailEssentials interact with Exchange products.
Solution
- Install GFI MailEssentials with errors during the Post-Installation wizard.
- Navigate to General Settings > Product Updates.
- Install all available patches.
- Re-run the Post-Installation Wizard with the clean parameter.
- Open the Command Prompt and navigate to
...\GFI\MailEssentials\
- Run the following command:
e2k7wiz.exe clean
- Open the Command Prompt and navigate to
- Finish the Post-Installation Wizard as you would during a regular install.
Testing
The Post-Installation Wizard will successfully finish without errors.
Additionally, you can configure Spam keyword checking and Spam actions to verify that GFI MailEssentials is working as expected after the installation.
