Too many licenses in use

Overview

After renewing the license key for a smaller number of users, when you enter the license key, MailEssentials shows that there are too many licenses in use. Many users are disabled and no longer have a mailbox. The installation mode is SMTP.

Information

Please note that users can be removed from the configured user list in different ways but depending on the user mode that was selected during the installation.

MailEssentials uses 3 methods to count and retrieve users:

1. Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and later
2. Microsoft Active Directory
3. Internal user database

MailEssentials will continue to retrieve the users that you are keeping as an accessible archive for as long as they are active.
