Overview

The SpamTag web service URL is configured during installation. If the URL changes for any reason and re-installation of the plug-in is not possible, the following steps may be followed to update the URL. 

Solution

The web service URL used by SpamTag can be configured by modifying the Windows registry on the client machine. Please note that the location may differ, based on your operating system.

x86:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\GFI\MailEssentials\SpamTag

x86_64:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GFI\MailEssentials\SpamTag

Update the key WebServiceURL to point to the correct location, and restart the client machine for the updated value to take effect.

Confirmation

After restarting the workstation, SpamTag shows the updated URL and the feature can now be used.

If the process works in your first workstation, you can Export the key as a REG file, and import it in the rest of the participating workstations.
